CEG blog October 2022

In October, we met at NGN’s Redcar Hydrogen Village Offices, and as part of our session, visited the community where the project was being undertaken. This very much brought the project to life and was helpful for us to contextualise the proposed programme.

NGN CEO Mark Horsley joined us online. His business update focused on financing, safety, resilience and regulatory engagement.

We were then joined by Andrew Grant who gave us a safety briefing with an emphasis on four key topics impacting on safety performance: digitalization; how health and safety standards training is monitored, implemented and the implications of the potential change to hydrogen; customer engagement on safety matters and the shift to line packing and decommissioning of gas holders.

We received an overview on the progress of the hydrogen village trial from Fergal O’Donovan and Laura Robson.

Following on from this, Dean Pearson  gave a presentation on hydrogen cost to the customer.

We ended our session with a review of stakeholder engagement and the Company’s future plan.
