The CEG met virtually on 12 April to discuss a number of important issues, including finalising our monitoring and review of NGN preparedness for RIIO2, and receiving an update on the position regarding the Company’s appeal to the CMA.
We had an update on the Company’s Whole Systems Network and the outcomes of its work to date. This included progress made with the enabling framework to enact RIIO2 Uncertainty Mechanisms for Net Zero, an update on the East Coast Hydrogen Project and a note on how the Company had responded to our challenges.
We then moved on to the issue of innovation and were given a report on the new innovation landscape. Again, we covered how the Company had responded to our earlier challenges in this important area.
Our final workstream discussion was on the transformation of back office services and the challenges we had made.
We then had a discussion on our role, remit, reporting and work programme for RIIO2. Further discussions regarding remit will continue and be reviewed to take account of Ofgem guidance/views once released.
