ISG Blog December 2024
NGN will be submitting its Full Business Plan for 2026-31 to Ofgem on 11th December.
The ISG received the final revisions to NGNs plans in advance of our meeting on 2 December when we had the opportunity to query the changes.
The ISG were pleased to see a reduction in costs following challenges we made on earlier drafts and received commentary explaining what lay behind these and other changes. Most of the content remained unchanged from the previous version we had seen – but the layout was much improved.
Satisfied that the plan is now clearly designed with Ofgem as the primary audience, we welcomed NGN’s commitment to produce a more customer focused summary which will be published on NGN’s website on 18 December alongside the full plan (avoiding regulatory jargon where possible and highlighting more clearly customer outcomes.) We agreed the process and timescales for producing our response to Ofgem’s Call for Evidence which runs from 18 December to 10 February.
We also reviewed the Challenge Log we had created for 2024 and were able to close down all challenges following satisfactory responses from NGN.
Mark Horsley provided us with an update on the business and confirmed that safety standards and customer service satisfaction remained high. He thanked the ISG for our work which has strongly influenced the development of the business plan.
