During Covid-19 lockdown, we have, of course, been meeting virtually. Alongside our work on the Price Review and the Company’s preparations for RIIO-2, we have been paying particular attention to how NGN is responding to the pandemic and how it is assessing the impact that it might have in the future. So, in addition to an update on the Price Review process at our April meeting, we also received an update on Covid-19 and as the impact of the virus unfolds, we will continue to monitor for example, how this affects the delivery of its commitments to customers.
In April we also had a presentation on the Company’s Enhanced Social Commitments, setting out how engagement is shaping preparations ahead of the start of RIIO-2. This was followed by a discussion on Bespoke Environmental Outputs.
We received our Regional Stakeholder Engagement update and discussed RIIO-1 Uncertainty Mechanisms.
At our June meeting, we welcomed two new members to the Group, Laura Brown and Brian Matthews, who had been recruited in May to fill two vacancies. Both join the Group with a wealth of experience, and we were pleased to meet them ‘virtually’.
In terms of business, we received an update on the Price Review and on Covid-19.
We then focussed on the Company’s work on ‘Transforming Back Office Systems’ – primarily covering the Company’s new systems and their roll-out, aimed at service improvement and more efficient working, among other things.
Our afternoon session centred on a presentation on the Company’s ‘New Innovation Landscape’, giving an update on the preparations being made in advance of RIIO-2.
We also had our regular update on Stakeholder Engagement and on the Company’s ‘Stakeholder Engagement Incentive Submission’.
We concluded the day by reviewing some of our Group operating procedures – the ‘Target Operating Model’ and effectiveness criteria.
