Championing the voice of customers
Hello, I’m Jenny Saunders, and I have the privilege to be Chair of Northern Gas Network’s independent Customer Engagement Group (CEG).
As customers, there are lots of times that we can’t shop around for the services that we receive. In those cases, it is imperative that businesses take the right steps to really understand their customers and design services that they truly value.
As someone who has spent my career speaking up for customers, I feel particularly strongly about this. Over the past thirty years I have seen the power that stakeholder feedback can have to challenge, change and ultimately improve how the energy industry works.
It’s this belief in the need for transparency and responsiveness to what customers and the communities really need that led to my decision to take up the role of Chair of the independent Customer Engagement Group for Northern Gas Networks.
The Customer Engagement Group will be a powerful guiding force that shapes Northern Gas Networks’ business plan for 2021. It’s my role as Chair, and that of my members, to help shape the future of a network that provides heat to over 2.7 million homes and businesses – that’s 6.8 million customers – in the North East, northern Cumbria and much of Yorkshire.
I’m looking forward to leading my members, who all share my passion, to deliver the right outcomes for customers and I’ll be sharing regular updates about or work, plans and achievements over the next 12 months via my blog and our dedicated website. I hope you keep posted!
